Leonida
Vice City is the name everyone knows. Leonida is the wider fictional state Rockstar places at the centre of GTA VI's criminal story.

The state behind Vice City
Vice City is the name everyone remembers. Rockstar's GTA VI material puts that familiar neon skyline inside a larger stage: the fictional state of Leonida.
Rockstar says Jason and Lucia are pulled into a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state. That is the important shift. Leonida is not presented as a backdrop with a famous city pasted onto it. It is the official frame around the pair's story.
Rockstar also calls this world "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America." The line does more than sell a mood. It sets up the tension that runs through the material released so far: glamour on the surface, pressure underneath.
[1][2]Six named destinations
Rockstar's People & Places page currently highlights six named destinations. That is not a complete official map. It is a deliberately selective tour of the places Rockstar wants readers to have in mind.
- Vice City is the familiar headline: a modern setting where Rockstar's own framing pairs sun and fun with glamour, hustle and greed.
- Leonida Keys already matter to the character material. Rockstar links Jason's past and Brian Heder's work to the Keys and its drug-running scene.
- Grassrivers brings mangroves, alligators and a more threatening kind of wilderness into the official picture.
- Port Gellhorn is described as a former holiday destination with a harder new economy.
- Ambrosia is tied to the Allied Crystal operation and a local biker gang in Rockstar's presentation.
- Mount Kalaga National Park takes the official tour north, away from the coastal image most people associate with Vice City.
The useful point is not that these names prove the map's final shape. They do not. The point is that Rockstar is already giving Leonida a much wider identity than one city and its beach.
[2][3]A story spread across the state
Leonida's geography is already connected to people, not just scenery. Rockstar says Jason worked for local drug runners in the Keys after his Army stint. Brian Heder is described as a longtime Keys drug runner, while Cal Hampton is both Jason's friend and an associate of Brian's.
Vice City has its own web of ambition. Rockstar calls Boobie Ike a local legend whose empire spans real estate, a strip club and a recording studio. His partnership with Dre'Quan Priest connects to Only Raw Records, while Real Dimez are signed to the label.
None of this identifies mission locations or tells us how the plot will move between regions. It does show that Rockstar is attaching its named places to the people chasing money, escape and status inside Leonida.
[2]Why Leonida is the real hook
This is an editorial reading, not a claim about gameplay. Taken together, Rockstar's descriptions invite a sharper picture than "Vice City again." The official tour moves from glamour and commerce to the Keys, wetlands, a struggling resort town, industry and a national park.
That contrast is where Leonida becomes interesting. Vice City may be the instant recognition play, but the wider state gives Rockstar room to put very different versions of paradise in the same story. The neon is still there. It just has competition.
[1][2][3]What Rockstar has not shown
The official pages cited here do not provide a full map, regional borders, scale, route layout or player-access rules. They also do not establish every location in Leonida, which places host missions, or what activities each area supports.
That missing information is worth protecting. A map reconstruction, a leaked place name or a confident guess can make a guide look fuller for a day and wrong for years. This page sticks to the names and links Rockstar has actually put on record.
